Many devoted readers the epic Harry Potter series were shocked (some dismayed) when shortly after the release of the final edition author J.K. Rowling “outed” one of its main characters, Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
At an interactive reading at Carnegie Hall, Rowling was asked if Dumbledore had ever been in love. Rowling responded by saying: “My truthful answer to you... I always thought of Dumbledore as gay.”

“Openly Christian”
This quote comes to you from everybody’s favorite, the London Times (full article here):
“Gay activists will tomorrow condemn the appointment of openly-Christian leader in the UK to the country's main equality commission and demand his resignation.”
Wow, “openly Christian” . . .
The commentary writes itself, actually.

Chavez's New Enemy
Ad Fundum generally considers Chavez to be one of the most evil SoGs (Sons of Guns) on the planet, and indeed he is pictured above seated next to fellow SoG superstar Ahmewhatever. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Chavez has pit himself against the Church in his country calling priests “liars” and “perverts” and accusing the Church of bringing division to Venezuela.

Piper v. Wright: Or, David v. Goliath and David Just Ran Out of Rocks
Of all the remarkably stupid and arrogant things John Piper has done in his career, his latest move certainly takes the cake. For recently the populist “theologian” has trumped even the caveat in which he institutionalized VBS marketing schemes as Christian apologetic (ie “Serve God, it’s fun!) by deciding to take on N.T. Wright on the doctrine of Justification.

Family History
ome of you will know and some of you will not know that my family’s surname, Dove, is derivative from the Gaelic word dubh (pronounced “doov” or “doo”) meaning dark, hidden, cunning or concealed.
Now you may or may not also know our name is thereby linked with the great and illustrious Clan Buchanan founded in AD 1016. The story of the clan’s founding is quite a good one but be left for another time for today I want to tell you all the story of how we got the badge . . .

Why I’m Glad Hatton Got Whipped
This story should start with me saying how much I detest Floyd Mayweather. The man literally disgusts me as a person and to a degree as an athlete as well. He doesn’t deserve the honors that have been showered on him.
With that said, I am overflowing with joy that he knocked out Ricky Hatton. Why?

Dear readers,
If you are the type of people who pray, now would be the time to do so.
Earlier today an unknown individual walked into a Youth With A Mission training center in Denver with guns blazing. At least four people have been shot . . .

Thank Goodness
My friends from Caracas will be very happy this week that their nemesis Hugo Chavez was thwarted in his plans to become an official dictator over lovely Venezuela.
Ad Fundum has been casting worried eyes at Venezuela for some time now, almost as much as it has been interested in Russia’s nationalist movement. In many ways the events in Venezuela were troubling because of how closely they mimicked those of Cuba’s past which has led to so much ire in U.S. foreign policy.
